What happens when a city’s heart, a community’s promise, and a maker’s movement collide? We’re finding out.
South Salt Lake Arts, Promise SSL, and Craft Lake City are proud to announce a new joint venture designed to empower the next generation of creative entrepreneurs. During hands-on workshops, 15 elementary youth and 12 teens will have access to professional-grade maker tools, mentorship from successful local artisans, and gain access to a platform to market and sell their work. Kids won't just learn to make art—they'll discover a pathway to their own creative futures. From the studio to the marketplace, SSL Arts, Promise SSL, and Craft Lake City are coming together to invest in the makers of tomorrow.
Key Value Propositions
- Economic Literacy: Teaching children and teens the material costs and pricing, branding and self-promotion, and the value of their labor.
- Community Ownership: Helping youth see themselves as active contributors to the South Salt Lake economy and culture.
- Scalable Impact: A focused cohort (27 students) allows for deep mentorship and measurable success stories.
