Glimpses of Bharatanatyam
The Nitya Nritya Foundation is a Salt Lake City base non-profit that is dedicated to bringing the best of Indian classical dance and music to Utah from around the world.
Bharatanatyam is a genre of classical dance from the South of India. It is one of the more popular forms of dance from India that is practiced all over the world. Along with having a pure technique that is both geometric & graceful, it also has a sophisticated narrative vocabulary ideally suited to complex story-telling. Expect a repertoire of pieces in Bharatanatyam that anyone in the community can related to. There will context for each piece to facilitate an informed appreciation of the art form.
this will be an evening for all to enjoy learning movemnet and sound together.
Many Artists - One Community
The Arts Council has a mission to unite the South Salt Lake community through art. Every year we support local artists by seeking out and creating opportunities for them to showcase their craft. In doing so, we open the door to everyone else in SSL, providing easy access to amazing art and artists - from murals on our local businesses to our art classes! Finally, our projects have a positive impact on the at-large community, increasing property values and creating a shared sense of pride within our city.
